Adding parts to pending nests

When reviewing pending nests, you may find some that have available free space and can accommodate more parts. As long as you can access the original job file, you can add parts and then re-output the nest.

This requires a user account with the Production Manager role and Nest Cuts: Undo Output user permission.

This process involves using Undo Output, which will completely remove the nest from Production Manager. The nest will need to be output from ProNest again, in order to produce an updated NC program for cutting.

  1. In Production Manager, select the Nests tab.
  2. Select the nest to which you want to add more parts.

  3. Click or tap the nest to select it.
  4. Make a note of the job (.nif) for that nest.

  5. Select [...] then Undo Output. The nest will be removed from Production Manager.

  6. Open that job (NIF) in ProNest.
  7. Add additional parts to the part list.
  8. Nest the parts.
  9. Output the nest again. You may be prompted to Output and Replace, select Yes.

The nest will be Pending again and available in Production Manager, ready to be cut.
